What happens when a family-owned operation decides to stop winging it and invest in a brand that actually does the work for them.
When Diamond V Beef came to LYT Marketing a few years ago, they had something a lot of small businesses have: an incredible product, a real story, and a visual identity that wasn’t doing either of those things any justice. They’re a family-owned beef operation; hence the tagline “born, grazed, and processed in the Dakotas”, with the kind of heritage and quality standards that should make customers feel something the moment they lay eyes on the brand. But without the right visual foundation, the right digital infrastructure, or a strategy to reach buyers beyond their immediate community, that story was staying largely untold.

Where The Brand Started
Before working with LYT, Diamond V had the basics; a name, a product, a rich history, and the bones of a visual identity. What they didn’t have was a branding system built to grow with them; no cohesive visual identity, or a brand kit their team could use consistently across packaging, social, and marketing materials. There wasn’t a website that was engineered to convert, or an ad strategy to bring new customers through the door.
For a direct-to-consumer beef brand trying to reach customers across the United States, that gap was costing them not because they were doing anything wrong of course, but because they simply were focused on what they did best! Enter: LYT Marketing.
The Build
We came in and started from the ground up, which is where a lot of the most satisfying work happens.
The first priority was the Diamond V brand identity. We developed a complete brand kit for Diamond V that captured exactly what this business is: rugged but refined, rooted in place, and built on the kind of quality you can taste adn feel.
The Primary Logo
The primary logo: a diamond mark with a cow portrait at its center, surrounded by the tagline ‘Born, Grazed, and Processed in the Dakotas’ communicates everything in a single glance. Earthy, warm tones (deep browns, burnt siennas, a forest green, sage, and a soft cream) gave the brand the visual weight it needed to feel premium without losing its roots. Custom typography paired a bold, character-rich serif header font with a clean, spacious grotesque for a brand that could hold its own on packaging and on screen in equal measure.

Additional Logos & Elements
Beyond the primary logo, we built out a full suite of alternate marks and brand elements; a badge logo, a circular stamp version, a wordmark, illustrated brand elements including a North Dakota state outline and a breed silhouette, so their team would never be scrambling to adapt the brand for a new application. Everything was built to be flexible, consistent, and immediately usable.

Website Design & Shopify Integration
From there, we moved into the website. It was designed and built to convert with a Shopify integration. We did so intentionally, so Diamond V could actually sell their product online on their own website without the customer being booted to a third-party. We layered in email marketing to create a channel for direct customer communication, Google Ads to put the brand in front of buyers actively searching for what they sell, and social media campaigns to build awareness and drive traffic.

What Happened Afterwards?
Two weeks after the launch of their ad campaign, Diamond V had generated $27,000 in sales.
Let that sit for a moment. Two weeks!
That’s not magic (although it seems like it) – but it’s what happens when a genuinely good product finally has a brand, a website, and a paid strategy that are all pointed in the same direction. The infrastructure was built to work, and it did!
Although the dollar figure is large, that’s not the result we’re most proud of – it’s the reach! Diamond V is physically located in North Dakota and yet their customers are now spread across the United States. A family ranch that had primarily served a local market now has a national footprint, built on a brand strong enough to make a stranger on the internet say: I trust this and I want this.
And the relationship has continued since day one. We’ve stayed on for ongoing website maintenance, social media sales campaigns, and continued digital marketing because when something is working and the teams work well together, you get to build on it.
Here’s what the Diamond V team had to say:
“Brittany and the team at LYT have been with us since day one of Diamond V Beef! From the conception of our logos and brand kit, to our website design and maintenance, to launching our social media sales campaigns! LYT has not just helped us expose our business to our local customers, but to customers across the United States as well. Though our business is physically located in North Dakota, meeting with the team at LYT has been super easy via online video meetings and email. We look forward to continuing to work with LYT on future projects!”

What This Story Is Really About
Diamond V Beef is similar to a lot of the most common businesses. They’re a family operation with a product they believe in, who made the decision to invest in their brand at the right moment, and they let that investment do what good branding is supposed to do.
We work with businesses at exactly this stage all the time; the stage where the product/service is really solid, the vision is clear, but the marketing infrastructure hasn’t caught quite caught up yet. That gap doesn’t have to be permanent either, and it’s exactly what we’re here to close!
The work we do at LYT Marketing isn’t about making things pretty for the sake of pretty. It’s about giving your business the foundation it needs to actually reach the people who should be buying from you, whether they’re down the road or across the country.
